JazmineJazmine was raised and born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam Her mother, who is a former back-up singer at Philadelphia International Records. Her father offered her the position of curator for the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She along with her family moved to the historic mansion. She graduated in 2005 of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts where she was singing music major. Sullivan started singing in the school's choir as a contralto before joining the adult chorus a couple of years afterwards. His exposure to secular music was at first limited "I had solos singing in church and someone wanted me to sign to an gospel label when I was 11 years old, but I wasn't at the point of doing that," she recalls. Then, McDonald's held a contest that was open to children living in cities. I was able to sing "Accept The Grace God Gives" on it's Showtime At the Apollo. And the public was extremely supportive. Stevie Wonder sang her part to celebrate the birthday of her grandson at 13. Sullivan was signed initially to Jive Records at the age fifteen. In Jive Records, she made an entire album. However, the album wasn't released. Sullivan was then dropped by the label. Missy Elliott was the producer on several songs on her debut album. Among them "Backstabbers" composed by Timbaland, which Elliott wrote for Sullivan, was her top track.
